Emergency
Check if the outage is only in your home by seeing if nearby houses or streetlights have power.
Inspect your breaker panel for tripped breakers or blown fuses and reset RCDs.
Turn off or unplug sensitive electronics and major appliances to prevent damage when power returns.
Test RCD outlets (press "Reset") in kitchens, bathrooms, garages.
Verify your utility account/status with the electric provider by phone or their outage map (use mobile data if Wi‑Fi is down).
Look for obvious external causes (fallen trees, downed lines) and keep a safe distance; do not touch or move them.
Use a flashlight or battery-powered lamp — avoid candles when possible for fire safety.
If you suspect an electrical hazard (sparks, burning smell, hot outlets) or if power returns with problems, turn off power at the main breaker and call Test Rite Electrical immediately.

Call-Out Fee
Standard Call-Out (Auckland-wide): $250 + GST
Includes:
Travel to your property
Initial inspection and fault diagnosis
First 30 minutes on site labour
Hourly Rate (after initial period): $180 + GST per hour
Emergency & After-Hours Work
Emergency call-outs available for urgent electrical faults (power outages, safety issues, burning smells, etc.).
